BEIJING, April 15 (Xinhua) -- China is mulling to cut taxes and fees on a larger scale so as to create a favorable business environment that is more attractive to investment, Chinese Finance Minister Liu Kun said at a meeting held in Washington last Friday and Saturday by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

To achieve the objective, China will also continue to relax restrictions on market access, strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights, and implement the new laws on foreign investment, according to the minister.

China's proactive fiscal policies on tax and fee reductions this year have facilitated economic growth in the first quarter, stated Liu.

China expects to work with the World Bank in areas of lending programs, improvement of business environment and the establishment of a high-standard multilateral financing cooperation center, the minister said. (Edited by Su Dan)
