BEIJING, Jan.8 (Xinhua) -- China’s leading consumer electronics enterprise TCL Corporation (000100.SZ) announced that Xiaomi Group has purchased 65.1688 million A-shares or 0.48 percent of the equities of TCL on the secondary market sale as of January 4.
Earlier on December 29, the company had signed a straregic cooperation agreement with Xiaomi Group on launching the joint rearch and development (R&D) on integration of intelligent hardware and electronic information core high-end basic devices.
Xiaomi said that it plans to transform into an innovative technology company focusing on semiconductor display and materials. The equity acquisition is a move for the company to launch multiple-dimension strategic cooperation on capital operation, based on its long-term development plan.
