BEIJING, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Federal Board of Revenue under the government of Pakistan has received electronic data (e-data) via Weboc system from Chinese Customs on China’s exports to Pakistan during July to September of 2018, reported Pakistan newspaper Dawn.
This marks a breakthrough in e-data exchange cooperation between China and Pakistan and will effectively reduce low-price declaration problem, the report cited an official with the Pakistan Ministry of Finance as saying.
The report noted that Pakistan realized some 1.74 billion U.S. dollars of exports to China and 15.7 billion U.S. dollars of imports from China in last fiscal year, but there might be low-price declaration problem in about 3-6 billion U.S. dollars of the imports according to official and unofficial researches.
China and Pakistan this April announced the initiation of e-data exchange, under which customs data would be exchanged quarterly. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
