Seminar held in Lisbon to enhance China-Portugal media cooperation

LISBON, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- A seminar on media cooperation between China and Portugal was held in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon on Monday.

The seminar, entitled "Dialogue of Media Cooperation between China and Portugal" under the theme "Opening up, Innovation, Cooperation and Common Win," focused on the cooperation between leading media outlets in China and Portugal.

Media outlets of the two countries, serving as the links connecting people, have contributed to the promotion of people-to-people bond, said Sergio Silva, director of Media Policy of Portuguese Council of Ministers.

He believed that the upcoming state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping will open a new chapter for the exchanges and cooperation in various areas between the two countries, including the press sector.

The friendly and cooperative relations in various fields between China and Portugal have been developing constantly and Xi's forthcoming state visit to Portugal will open a new chapter for bilateral relations, said Wang Xiaohui, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The media outlets of China and Portugal will enhance friendship and lift the China-Portugal comprehensive strategic partnership to a new high, said Wang.

Representatives from Portuguese-speaking countries Brazil and Angola also participated in the seminar.
