China, Australia sign 11 major commercial agreements worth AUD15 bln during CIIE

Abstract : A total of 11 major commercial agreements between Chinese and Australian companies worth almost 15 billion Australian dollars over the next five years have been signed during the first China International Import Expo (CIIE).

BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- A total of 11 major commercial agreements between Chinese and Australian companies worth almost 15 billion Australian dollars over the next five years have been signed during the first China International Import Expo (CIIE).

The commercial deals spanned across a range of sectors including tourism, resources, infrastructure, e-commerce and logistics services, said Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Simon Birmingham.

According to the Minister, these agreements "demonstrate both the current strength and the future potential of the trade and investment relationship between Australia and China".

The certainty that these agreements provide means Australian companies can have confidence to invest more in their operations, which is good for Australian economy and helps to creates more jobs, added him.

These agreements included the iron ore supply and delivery agreements signed between Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) and the Chinese iron & steel companies; a financing agreement signed between BBI Group and China Zhongchong Investment Group; and a health product distribution agreement signed between Blackmores and JD Global.
