BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- East China’s Shandong Province will promote the adjustment of transportation structure, and improve the quality of safety development in transportation.
Shandong Province proposed that it would promote the transportation way from highway to railway for the goods. By 2020, the commodities such as coal, ore, coke and oil with a planned distance of more than 400 kilometers will be basically transferred via railway.
Meanwhile, the province is expected to promote advanced transportation organization mode, such as multimodal transport. The mode has made obvious achievements in parts of the regions in the province. For instance, Qingdao, major city in the province completed the volume of sea-rail transport at 516,000 containers in the first half year, up 54.6 percent year on year.
