Xinhua News Agency reaches cooperation intention with Peru's state news agency Andina

Abstract : A delegation from Xinhua News Agency of China visited Peru's state news agency Andina on September 25, aiming to promote economic information cooperation between Chinese and Peruvian media.

LIMA, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- A delegation from Xinhua News Agency of China visited Peru's state news agency Andina on September 25. The two sides discussed cooperation on news and information and reached cooperation intention on providing economic information, pictures and video news.

The delegation of Xinhua was led by Zhang Yongping, general manager of Xinhua News Agency's Marketing Management Office and Liu Mingxia, vice president of China Economic Information Service (CEIS), a solely-owned subsidiary of Xinhua.

Zhang Yongping noted that Xinhua has always maintained a good relationship with Andina. Chinese enterprises are very concerned about Peru's economic development and have a strong desire to invest in the country. The two sides have great potentials for cooperation in the field of providing economic information. It is expected that both sides can jointly build an information exchange platform and continuously consolidate cooperation.

Ricardo Montero, editor-in-chief of Andina stated that Andina is very interested in conducting economic information cooperation with Xinhua and it hopes to learn more about China's science and technology, medical care and tourism.

Andina also expects to cooperate with Xinhua on people-to-people exchanges in the form of pictures, videos and so on, the news agency's editor-in-chief added.

CEIS vice president Liu Mingxia gave an introduction on major economic information products and services available at her company to her Andina counterparts. Both sides have achieved basic consensus on cooperation.

Liu also briefed Andina on the Belt & Road Economic Information Partnership initiated by Xinhua and invited Andina to join in the partnership.

 Andina is willing to join in the Belt & Road Economic Information Partnership and, Ricardo Montero said, adding that such a pragmatic platform will help promote economic exchanges between two countries.

Andina is a news agency owned by the Peruvian government, which has a great influence on Peru and Latin America. (Edited by Zhang Yuan, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
