BEIJING, Sept.19 (Xinhua) – Shanghai plans to construct some 60 artificial intelligent (AI) deep application scenarios and more than 100 AI application demonstration projects in the future, according to the 2018 World Artificial Intelligent Conference held on Monday.
An implementation plan on accelerating AI development which includes 22 specific measures involving talents gathering, technology innovation, capital capability and etc. has been released on Monday at the conference, according to the Xinhua-run Economic Information Daily.
Shanghai will speed up the development of AI to further improve the core competitiveness of the city, according to Ma Chunlei, deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Municipal Government.
It is noted that 20 Chinese provinces and regions such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui, Guizhou, and Jilin, have released regional AI development policies.
At present, China owns totally 1,040 AI enterprises which rank second in the world, and it is one of the fast developing AI countries in the world, according to a global AI industry map released on the conference. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, Niu Huizhe)
