BEIJING, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Authorities of Luzhou City in southwest China's Sichuan Province signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Economic Information Service of Xinhua News Agency in Beijing on Saturday.

Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in such fields as the information service for the upcoming Sixth China Luzhou Southwest Commodity Expo, think-tank service for the free trade zone in Luzhou, the global promotion of the image of Luzhou City, and the construction of the social credit system in Luzhou.

Luzhou is one of the second batch of demonstration cities approved to establish a social credit system. Luzhou has always been committed to creating a good business environment in an effort to attract all kinds of enterprises, said Jiang Fuyi, secretary of Luzhou Municipal Party Committee at the signing ceremony.

The CEIS will give full play to its unique advantages in product platforms, information services and resources integration, and jointly contribute to the construction and development of Luzhou City, said Xu Yuchang, chairman and president of CEIS.

At the ceremony, Kuang Lecheng, vice president of CEIS, said that in the next step, the CEIS will give full play to its professional advantages and help Luzhou build a demonstration city in the construction of the social credit system and create a first-class business environment.

Luzhou, located close to three  provincial-level regions including Yunnan, Guizhou and Chongqing, provides convenient land, water and air transportation. It has launched several international flights to the countries and regions along the Belt and Road routes.

CEIS, a wholly-owned company of Xinhua News Agency, is engaged mainly in the economic information collection, products production, marketing and customer service. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
