BEIJING, Sept. 7(Xinhua) -- China Railway Corp. has recently invited tenders for supply of 145 Fuxing bullet trains, 188 high-power electric locomotives and 4,602 C80B open boxcars, the cnstock.com reported on Thursday.
Industrial insiders disclosed that China Railway will launch procurement of 900 Fuxing bullet trains, 210,000 freight trains and 3,756 locomotives in the following three years.
In the first half of the year, China Railway purchased 145 Fuxing bullet trains through the open tender with total spending of about 24.6 billion yuan. The planned procurement of another 100-150 bullet trains is expected to bring total spending on such item to 50 billion yuan, according to the report.
In addition, China will promote energy-efficient railway freight transportation to improve the country's transportation system structure, which is likely to create the big orders for the freight trains. (Edited by Wu Shuang, Hu Pingchao, wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
