BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Commerce and Mauritius' Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade signed a memorandum of understanding on Sunday to officially end the negotiations about the free trade agreement (FTA), the Xinhua-run cnstock.com reported on Monday.
China and Mauritius officially started the FTA negotiations in December 2017. After four rounds of formal negotiations and multiple rounds of consultations, the two sides finally reached a package of agreements on all aspects of the agreement in Beijing on August 30.
The negotiations covered a wide range of fields such as trade in goods, service trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
Next, the two sides will begin the legal review of the outcome of the negotiations and the text, in preparation for the final signing of the agreement. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
