BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- China has initially established an index system of evaluating the business environment with the Chinese characteristics and internationally comparable standards, according to Lin Nianxiu, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top economic planner, at a recent meeting.
Lin said that the business environment evaluation index system is constructed from three dimensions, namely, measuring the whole life cycle of the enterprise, reflecting the attractiveness of urban investment, and showing the high-quality development level of the city.
At present, 22 cities in China have been selected for the business environment evaluation on a trial basis.
Judging from the results of the trial evaluation, Beijing ranked first in terms of the dimensions of the whole life cycle of enterprises and the attractiveness of urban investment. It also took the lead in the dimension of high-quality development level, thanks to its breakthroughs in improving the business environment in fields such as establishment of enterprises, and the handling of building permits.
South China's Shenzhen ranked first in terms of dimension of high-quality development level. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
