BEIJING, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- East China's Anhui Province saw its foreign trade with the countries along the Belt and Road routes in the first half of the year stand at 47.66 billion yuan, an increase of 5.3 percent year on year, according to Hefei Customs District.
To be specific, the Province's imports from these countries amounted to 12.16 billion yuan in the first half of the year, up 10.9 percent on year, while its exports to them stood at 35.5 billion yuan, up 3.5 percent year on year.
From the perspective of trading partners, India, Vietnam and Malaysia were the top three trading partners of Anhui during the period.
In the first half of the year, the Province's foreign trade with India was 6.12 billion yuan, up 2.6 percent year on year, while its foreign trade with Vietnam and Malaysia amounted to 4.61 billion yuan and 3.65 billion yuan, down 9.6 percent and 10.9 percent, respectively.
From the perspective of export commodities, exports of mechanical and electrical products accounted for 60 percent during the period. In the first half of the year, the Province exported 21.51 billion yuan worth of mechanical and electrical products, including 3.09 billion yuan worth of automobiles, 2.82 billion yuan worth of automatic data processing equipment and components, and 1.26 billion yuan worth of solar cells.
