BEIJING, July 20 (Xinhua) -- South China's Guangdong province has strengthened economic and trade cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road routes, seeing its imports from the Belt and Road countries at 279.34 billion yuan in the first half year, up 18.7 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by Department of Commerce of Guangdong province.
In the first half year, the actual utilization of foreign capital in Guangdong province was 79.07 billion yuan, an increase of 3 percent year on year. The actual absorption of foreign investment in the manufacturing industry maintained a strong momentum at 3.99 billion U.S. dollars, up 34.8 percent year on year.
Ma Hua, vice director with Department of Commerce of Guangdong province said that foreign investment has further supported the development of the real economy in Guangdong.
The province saw its foreign trade turnover totaled 3.24 trillion yuan in H1, up 2.7 percent year on year.
