CHANGCHUN, June 27 (Xinhua) -- The third trade fair among China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) saw 11 cooperation projects signed on Wednesday in Changchun, capital city of China's Jilin Province.

Changchun is the natural geographical center in northeastern China and a hub city northwards under the Belt and Road. As a pilot city under “Made in China 2025” program, Changchun has built a modern industrial system led by the three pillar industries including automobiles and parts, agricultural products processing, and railway vehicles, said Lv Ning, an official of Changchun city.

Changchun is a bridge linking economic exchanges and cooperation between the three countries, said Masashi Iwanaga, director of the Japan-China Economic Association Beijing Office, adding that in Changchun, there are a total of more than 400 Japanese companies with a total investment of more than 1.2 billion U.S. dollars.

More than 300 representatives of political and economic circles from the three countries participated in the trade fair on Wednesday.

Since 2016, Changchun has held the trade fair for three consecutive years with the aim to establish a platform for exchanges and cooperation between the three countries.

In 2017, Changchun saw its imports and exports exceed 95 billion yuan (about 14.37 billion U.S. dollars). (Contributed by Guan Ziru, edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
