LONDON, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Geng Jinhai, the Honorary Chairman of the Association of Chinese Insurance Professionals in The UK(ACIPUK), called for more participation in Belt and Road Initiative between Chinese and British insurers.

At ACIPUK 2nd year anniversary celebration Conference in London, Geng, also the CEO of China Taiping's (UK), said that China's opening-up and the Belt and Road Initiative both call for higher levels of expertise and conscientious efforts to provide advice and contribute ideas. "We are also best placed to foster cooperation between Chinese and British insurers along the Belt and Road."

He said that Belt and Road Initiative is an important plank of China's global strategy. "And Britain in general has, especially after the start of the Brexit process, come to embrace the Belt and Road Initiative and hoped to share a piece of action by playing its strength in professional services including its expertise in project consultancy and insurance. "

"As Chinese insurance pros working in the city, the birthplace of modern insurance, we can learn a lot in our respective positions. In fact, I would suggest that insurance should be an essential element in any Belt and Road Initiative projects, from inception to finish, " said Geng.
