Wuhan launches LCL freight lines to Shanghai to speed bulk cargo export

June 04, 2018

Abstract : Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province in central China, opened a LCL freight line to Shanghai, shortening the time of bulk cargo transport to the east China metropolis to 16 hours and good for local bulk cargo export, reported Hubei Daily Monday.

BEIJING, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province in central China, opened a less container load (LCL) freight line to Shanghai, shortening the time of bulk cargo transport to the east China metropolis to 16 hours and good for local bulk cargo export, reported Hubei Daily Monday.

The line is Wuhan’s first LCL freight line to Shanghai for maritime shipping export and as it does not need more goods collection and distribution, its freight costs drops 10-15 percent correspondingly.

On May 31, a container truck loaded with commodities bound for Shanghai set off from the Hankou north workplaces under customs supervision, marking the formal operation of the LCL freight line.

As a local customs clearance expert says, Hankou North marketplaces is a pilot for state-level market purchase trade. Hankou is the financial, commerce, trade and foreign exchange center and main transport hub of Wuhan. Generally speaking, market purchase trade means purchasing commodities with value equal to or less than 150,000 U.S. dollars within certified marketplaces in China and dealing with customs clearance formalities for the export commodities by qualified traders.

Usually, commodity export from the Hankou North marketplace belongs to bulk cargo export which are small in amount and needs groupage traffic. Under such circumstances, the Hankou North – Shanghai LCL freight line provides more international logistics choices for export goods in the Hankou North marketplace for pilot market purchase trade and saves greatly logistics costs for enterprises.
