BANGKOK, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Xinhua News Agency's Bangkok Bureau on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on economic information cooperation with Infoquest, a leading Thai information service provider.

According to the MOU, Xinhua Silk Road of China Economic Information Service (CEIS), China’s state information service platform focusing on the Belt and Road Initiative under Xinhua News Agency, relying on the Xinhua's Bangkok Bureau, will become each other's selling agency with Infoquest on information products, as well as provide trade consultation, think tank research, and personalized economic and trade support services for mutual customers in market expansion and overseas businesses.

The cooperation, opening a new chapter for Xinhua Silk Road to go global, will enable information products of Xinhua Silk Road to effectively land in Thailand, promote China-Thailand economic and trade cooperation in the construction of the Belt and Road, and constantly find and provide new opportunities for Sino-Thai economic and trade cooperation.

Pannee Yongpiyakul, chief editor of Infoquest, said that Xinhua News Agency has always been the closest partner to Infoquest, and Infoquest hopes to carry out deeper and more extensive cooperation with Xinhua Silk Road via the Bangkok Bureau of Xinhua.

Liu Mingxia, vice president with China Economic Information Service (CEIS), the main market entity of economic information business of Xinhua News Agency, said Xinhua Silk Road aimed to provide valuable information services to Infoquest and more potential information subscribers, and will serve as a bridge and platform for Belt and Road information interconnection.

In addition, the two sides also exchanged opinions on the Belt and Road Economic Information Alliance under construction this year by Xinhua News Agency based on Xinhua Silk Road. The alliance aims to strengthen the exchange and cooperation in information and business with financial institutions and economic think tanks in countries and regions along the Belt and Road routes.

The Xinhua Silk Road information platform, launched in July 2015, has already built a product and service system covering databases and websites in Chinese and English, credit inquiry, counseling and think tank, and transaction matching.
