GUANGZHOU, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- "The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road" Forum on International Communication and Chinese (Guangdong) Companies Going Global kicks off on Wednesday in Zhuhai, a coastal city at south China’s Guangdong province.
The forum is aimed at integrating efficient resource at home and abroad, offering advice and suggestions for Chinese enterprises “going out”, building an international exchange platform for companies’ cooperation, dialogues and research result publication as well as strengthening economic and trade cooperation between China and foreign countries.
More than 1,000 participants from 55 countries took part in the event. They include heads of government departments, officials of international organizations, representatives from the renowned enterprises in countries along the route, world-famous experts and scholars, and senior officials from media. They discussed topics such as exploring cooperation along the Belt and Road, improving Chinese enterprises’ international image and expanding the international communication power of Chinese solutions.
Innovating Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mechanism is a key instrument to facilitate institutional supply in Belt and Road Initiative construction, Jia Kang, former director of the Research Institute for Fiscal Science under China’s Ministry of Finance, made the comments during a speech at the forum.
Sun Shangwu, deputy editor-in-chief of China Daily, said in the keynote speech at the forum that media organizations along the Belt and Road should adopt diverse cooperation mechanisms and carry out extensive exchanges and cooperation.
Guangdong announced the launch of the 2017 Action Report on Chinese (Guangdong) Companies Going Global along the Belt and Road on the forum.
“The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road" Forum on International Communication and Chinese (Guangdong) Companies Going Global is jointly organized by the Information Office of Guangdong Provincial Government, Zhuhai Municipal Government and China Economic Information Service (CEIS)，an affiliate of the state Xinhua News Agency.
